Legal Services
The Moran Center supports young people and families in our community with free integrated legal, social work, and restorative services.
We believe all children and families deserve quality legal representation regardless of their ability to pay.
Our talented, experienced legal team advocates for children and their families to ensure they have equal access to justice in jail, juvenile court, criminal court, educational proceedings, civil legal matters, and criminal record relief (youth and adults).
Qualifications
The Moran Center’s legal services are free to qualifying participants who:
- are age 26 or younger (or their family member)
- live or are eligible to attend schools in Evanston/Skokie Districts 202 or 65.
- live at or below 80% of the federal poverty level.
The Education Advocacy Program directly represents the student. The EAP serves Evanston/Skokie and Chicago’s Rogers Park neighborhood.
The Criminal Record Relief Practice provides free record relief support to community members with a Cook County record. There is not an age threshold or residence requirement to participate.
