Joan D. Clay is the School-Based Civil Legal Clinic Attorney at the Moran Center. The clinic works with families of the school neighborhood to resolve civil legal issues to promote the stability of the family and help kids succeed in school. Prior to her position at the Moran Center Ms. Clay was a Visiting Assistant Clinical Professor and Director of the Mortgage Foreclosure Clinic at Touro Law Center in Long Island, New York. She taught, supervised and mentored students in the Clinic as they provided representation to homeowners facing foreclosure. Ms. Clay also has over 10 years’ experience as a sole practitioner who specialized in Business Law, Family Law and Real Estate Law.
Ms. Clay is admitted to the Bar in Illinois and New York. She received her B.A. in Communications with an emphasis in Journalism from Loyola University of Chicago. She earned her J.D. at the University of Detroit, Mercy Law School.
